Two Step Farm is a Unique Texas Community Growing in Montgomery Texas
Have you discovered Two Step Farm yet?
Plenty of new home communities are being built around Montgomery County.
But I don’t think I’ve seen one quite like Two Step Farm.
I recently spent some time walking the community, touring model homes, and getting a better feel for what is being built here. And the more I see of Two Step Farm, the more I believe this is going to become one of the communities buyers moving north of The Woodlands are going to want to know about.
For starters, the address of the Farm Shop is 11725 Howdy Drive.
Yes, Howdy Drive is a real street.
You’ll also find Y’all Street, Folks Street and other names that tell you pretty quickly that Two Step Farm isn’t trying to look like every other master-planned community in Texas.

It’s leaning into Texas.
That personality is one of the things that first caught my attention. I wrote more about the Texas character of the community in my LIVIN.in Montgomery story about Two Step Farm.
2,000 Acres and nearly 4,000 Homes
What you see today is only the beginning.
Two Step Farm encompasses roughly 2,000 acres, and when the community is ultimately built out, plans call for nearly 4,000 homes.
That’s important because you’re not simply looking at another neighborhood with a few hundred houses.
You’re watching the early stages of what will eventually become a significant Montgomery-area community.
And buyers already have a lot of choices.

Nine builders are currently part of Two Step Farm:
Autograph Homes, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, DSLD Homes, Highland Homes, Partners in Building, Perry Homes and Pulte Homes.
Additional builders are already planned for future phases.
That gives buyers something I always like to see in a new community: options.
Different builders. Different lot sizes. Different floor plans. Different price points.

Homes currently range from the mid-$300s to more than $1 million, with everything from smaller, lower-maintenance homes to large custom homes.
But the Two Step Farm Homes Aren’t the Most Interesting Part
Here’s what caught my attention.

Two Step Farm seems to be building the community before simply filling it with houses.
At the center of it is Two Step Hall, a Texas-inspired dance hall designed for live music, weddings, celebrations and community gatherings.
There’s the Farm Shop, where you can stop in, get information about the community and start exploring.
There’s The Grazery for coffee, food and a cold beer.

There are trails, preserved trees, outdoor gathering spaces and, yes, even goats.
Instead of building 4,000 houses and then trying to figure out how to create a sense of community, they’re attempting to establish the personality of the place from the beginning.
I think that’s what makes Two Step Farm interesting.
It Feels Like Texas
Drive through a lot of new developments and, if you removed the entrance sign, you might have trouble remembering which community you were visiting.
Two Step Farm doesn’t have that problem.
The architecture, street names, dance hall, music, outdoor spaces and overall design are intentionally Texas.

And I think that’s going to appeal to a particular buyer.
Maybe you want to move farther north but still have access to The Woodlands.
Maybe you’re relocating to Texas and the idea of living somewhere that actually feels like Texas sounds pretty good.
Or maybe you’re simply looking for newer construction, more space and a community where neighbors have places to actually gather.
Two Step Farm deserves a look.
One Thing I’d Recommend Before Visiting the Builders at Two Step Farm
If you’re considering buying new construction in Two Step Farm — or anywhere around Montgomery — I’d recommend talking with your REALTOR® before you start walking through model homes and registering with builders.
The builder’s sales representative works for the builder.
I work for you.
I’ve spent more than 22 years helping people buy and sell homes, and before getting my real estate license, I spent five years working as a contractor and remodeler. When I walk new construction with a buyer, I’m not only looking at countertops and floor plans. I’m looking at the home, the homesite, construction, builder differences, pricing, incentives and how that purchase fits into the buyer’s long-term plans.
With nine builders and dozens of floor plans in Two Step Farm, having someone help you narrow those choices can save a lot of time.
Want to Two Step Into a New Home?
I plan to spend quite a bit of time at Two Step Farm as this community develops.
I’ll be touring the different builders, walking model homes, following new phases and keeping an eye on what’s coming next.
So if Two Step Farm is on your radar, I’d be happy to show you around.
We can grab a cup of coffee, walk some models and figure out which builder and which part of the community makes the most sense for you.
And yes, we’ll probably have to take a picture at the corner of Howdy Drive and Y’all Street.
Because where else are you going to do that?
